Keep the Discussion Going

We started something good last week when we opened the discussion door to boundaries. So, of course it’s been a focus since then.

There’s an ‘all or nothing’ mindset that can come on when boundaries are first considered. But, are we only capable of one or the other? Can we only care about ourselves or about others? I think, perhaps, that would be short-changing ourselves. Valuing ourselves should not mean devaluing others.

You are important. They are important. I am important.

So, where does the energy come from to take care of the world? It comes from within and is protected by boundaries. Different personal truths and core values define individually what we need. It will not be the same from one soul to the next. That is why it is so important to establish individual boundaries and be mindful of them.

Find out what you need; alone time, friend time, work time, physical outlets; whatever it might be. Discover your balance and define your boundaries. And if you need a little help getting there, reach out. Hear other people’s journeys, and talk to a professional counselor or therapist. Keep the discussion going!

Remember, we are important.
