The toll it’s taken to get this far has cost so much. The answers are fewer than they were. The risks seem greater. And time seems shorter. It’s one thing to fail at something that doesn’t hold your interest or your heart.

I don’t want to give up, but what happens if I fail again? There are others who will share in failure’s cost. But you know what? The world doesn’t rest upon these shoulders alone. Even if I fail, I will carry this burden and they will continue to love me. I just think it’s easier to love me when I’m giving my all to what’s in my heart.

And so, let’s give everything we are to the light inside knowing that the world will be that much brighter when we do.

Back when I began to learn to draw, I would have never believed that I could create something like this. There’s room to improve, and new techniques to discover. But isn’t that the joy? Knowing that there’s more to come? It’s exciting to think of what I could maybe do next.
