For various reasons we can be forced to carry on without those that mean the most to us. It could be an opportunity to make new friends. It could be that you discover a strength inside that you didn’t know you had to grow. Or it could be that it’s a test.

Over the years, I’ve lost people that were then and remain now important to me. None cut so deep as those that have chosen to walk away. I don’t know if an explanation would provide answers needed for closure.

‘Our Next Steps Alone’ was inspired by these open wounds. Left without Nevetes, it’s up to Zene to figure out how to move forward. Will she be required to leave him behind? Will the people she meet become new friends? Will her strength be enough to make it through what is coming next?
