Soulful Sundays – failures are good

Having failures doesn’t meant that we are failures. We aspire to evolve and become a better version of ourselves. That means that we have to try. Trying means that we can fail.

But if I had never tried, I wouldn’t be able to do this today. The other week I challenged myself to look at something I drew when I first began. Despite having a week off, that hasn’t happened yet. I’ve been immersed in learning manga-style art and in writing. Best week ever! I was able to do a modified version of my challenge. I took the image first drawn on Procreate and I made it new. So, while I could look at the first image drawn as a failure and the failure to do the challenge properly as a failure, I don’t think that’s how we should look at our journeys. The first step is only the beginning. The idea is to keep getting better the more I try.  And I think I am improving. So, I can critique my old drawings, but I shouldn’t criticize them.

Ok, I feel like there’s a whole lot to unpack in that, but I’m still on vacay-mode. I hope that it makes sense though. And I hope that you find inspiration in this. Thank you for being on this journey with me. It’s so great to have you here!
