Soulful Sundays – it takes strength

Bad days happen to everyone. It’s not that I believe that there’s a grand design behind us suffering. But I do feel that there is something very important to be learned from these experiences. Empathy.

A friend at work was having a difficult time. A very difficult time. And though I was there to hug her in the moment, it felt right doing something a little more. And so, the below image was created. It didn’t take long, and I wanted to apologize for it not being better. It didn’t matter how good or flawed I thought it was, because she thought it was perfect! So perfect, that her mom framed it for her and hung it on her bedroom wall.

I do know what it’s like to cry at work. To be triggered by something that catches us off guard and it’s beyond us to control the reaction that comes out. Don’t be ashamed if this has happened to you. It takes a lot of strength to show weakness.

Now go enjoy what’s left of the weekend. You’ve earned it!
