Absolutely no one should live their lives pretending for the sake of others.

Now having stated that, let us talk about BL actors whose job it is to pretend.
There’s been a trend that’s occurred, particularly within Thai BL, where actor ships are launched. The star pairs go on to do multiple shows together. One example of a ship is #BabyFeat (Fort Thitipong and Peat Wasuthorn). They were one of the pairs that filmed Love in the Air; which is a big favourite of mine. They are now filming Love Sea. So very excited for this!

Fans love their ships! And I get it, I have ships that I’m invested in. BounPrem, FirstKhaotung, OffGun, FortPeat, and most recently BillyBabe! I love watching clips and shows with these actors. It’s my happy place no matter how many times I’ve hit repeat.

This past week one of the ships, NetJames announced that they were parting ways artistically. It was reported that they were off-screen as well as on-screen partners.

The announcement has the fans fairly divided. There are a number that support both Net and James, wishing them success and happiness. But there are a number of fans announcing that they are walking away from BL due to the pain they feel over this. Those feelings are valid, and I hope that each person will do what is best for them.

Just as I hope that each of the actors do. Fan-service is great, but it should never come at the cost of one’s self. My hope for all is that we are genuinely happy. That can only happen when we are being true to ourselves.
