Why BL?

Well, for me:

BL (and GL) fans are on the side of love, and that is what I love about this fandom! Through the writers, I find kindred souls who understand the struggles that break my heart. Through the directors I see what could become real. Through the actors I find hope. But it is within the fans that I find my family.

The groups that I’m a part of show undying, unfailing love towards the actors, the writers, the production companies, and to each other. When a favourite actor steps away from the industry or our most treasured ships have come to an end, we mourn yet we wish them the very best in all their future endeavors. When a social media storm brews and rumors fly, we stand as shelter for those struck down. We are the hands that applaud, that are held out to those that are down, and that express love in a tiny yet powerful symbol. We’re not faultless, but we are fabulous!
